Guild Hall Storage
I would like to suggest Guild Hall Storage. In the guild I belong to, we pride ourselves on helping out our lower lvl players. We seem to always be spending much to much time juggling materials back and forth from Storage to this character and that, just so we have a well stocked inventory to help get some new guy some armor.
This is not a rediculous suggestion if the guild has gone through the trouble of getting a hall and if it's a server space issue, then charge for it, make it optional and the "freeness" of the game wont be affected.
We're killin' ourselves just trying to make sure our monks have parchment and our warriors have steel while trying to maintain our own personal inventory space.
I have had to leave many an item laying on the ground just so I wouldn't throw out that stack of tanned hides or 100 wood planks.
We have a lot of young players whose parents do not allow them to sit on the computer for 6 or 8 hours a day. In my humble opinion, this is a GOOD thing, at the same time, not spending a lot of time in-game makes it very hard to gather the money to buy materials or salvage drops for them. Something like this would ease a lot of discouragement and keep folks in the game which, in turn, would ensure more expansion purchases.

This has been suggested many times. As a part of guild functionality I love the idea. It should be a basic part of a guild to store things there.

Have you heard wether there was ever an arenanet decission made on it or not? We (my guild) have been talking about what a great idea this would be for months.
Next question: How do we get a "yes" or "no" out of the game designers? I really do not see a practical use for the guild hall other than having a place that's spam free in-game. That's not really a huge benifit considering Fisherman's Haven or Maguuma Stade can be used for the same purpose.
How about a petition Guildwarsguru.com?? Would that accomplish anything?

Guild Storage would be good, but there would be certain problems hard to adress. First off, what if someone were to join a guild, and loot the storage? Perhaps put a minimum on the amount of time with the guild to access storage, or permission from leader. But what about the vice versa, nothing is to stop a guild leader from looting the stash and handing the itemless guild over to a random officer. Perhaps players could insert their items and have something similar to a password protecting them?
There would be many things to work out before they could fully implement it, but we really could use one.
Reply to Bohr Nal: Well I doubt a petition would do anything, look at how much the 19 page anti-nerf petition has accomplished.

Hmmm... the easiest solution to that is to make only officers/leader able to access the storage for WITHDRAWL purposes. You just don't put anything in there you cant part with. This isnt the place for your Max Damage +10% at 50 or above health 10/10 sundering with +30 hp axe, it's where you put 5 extra tanned hide squares you dont need, a medium level weapon with decent mods, the crafting materials for other classes.
We really need this, as well as a bunch more stuff for guilds.

Yeah, it would be easy in that respect. Deposit could be done freely but withdrawal would require the Guild leaders access code or some such thing with an option for the leader to suspend access of any member he wished.

Oh, I forgot one thing. Don't invite random people from towns into your guild!

Yes, definitely recorded in the guild log on the status screen. So donating members can see where their donated goods are going.

you need to have the leader or leader officer withdrawl thing, but the code thing will be hated.
the log is a must, for it will let you know if the leader or an officer has been cracked and is emptying stash
you also need to make ther be a withdrawl limit. ether somehting like 10% of cash or items per withdrawl or per day. otherwise, all that needs to happen is for the officer or leader to get cracked and you will loose everyting in the stash.
i KNOW this, i was in a guild (in another game) that was goten 2 times in a row
the only reason the guild wasnt totaly whiped out the second time was that a memeber was in the stash at the time the leader was trying to kick people from the guild. that memeber stayed in the guild and messaged everyone and anyone in the guild that was on to go e-mail the real leader and get the password ect sorted out.
i just thank the server gods that there was no time limit on how long they were alowed to stay in the stash, otherwise a couple of years worth of work and a couple of million cash (in game) would have gone into the crackers pockets
*note, i say cracker, rather than hacker, since its more the crackers i have found that like to get into peoples accounts and empty thier stashed and take their guilds out and get your char a reputaion for bad behaviour and so on. true, im sure there are hackers out there looking at the game and peeking at the code, but i think they are more interested in the why the game does this or that than how can i use this to make someone elses character mine type of thing*
